Mindy Smith penned those words in her song "Cure For Love." Apparently those words now apply to 99 percent of the world right now. This damn Corona virus is brutally interrupting our lives. Social events are off, sports are interrupted, churches are closed, grocery stores are nearly empty, stocks are plunging, and businesses are basically shutting down.
I'm trying to keep a positive approach to this, but the isolation is driving me crazy at this point. And it's only been two days. Today is my second day working my day job remotely and while I love the ability to stay home, and not see students, the technology stinks. About the best I can do now is check my email. Thank God for Shipt, which gives me a good reason to go out and make some money, especially with so many people concerned about going out right now.
I think I'm going to drive down to North Carolina and visit mom for a couple of days. I don't have to be back in the office until Thursday and until then I may as well use a better computer, plus it may not be great for me to be alone right now. I just wish we could dog sit too.
Im so overdue to meet that someone from Pennsylvania. I just hope when it does happen that we click in person.
