Damn.
Just saw "Ray." What a film. I'm not much of a movie goer so I'll put this in my own words (as I tend to do most of the time.) You've heard all the reviews about Jamie Foxx. That he could get an Oscar for his performance. My response? You bet your butt. Jamie Foxx hit a homerun. That said, many great acting jobs all around.
What struck me was the honesty. The depth of the heroin and womanizing even surprised me. You get a very hard portrayal of the man. The loss of his brother, the independent spirit, the creative abilities, the self-destruction. It's not always pretty, but it gets your soul, it gets your emotion. I laughed, danced, and cried. See this film folks. Yeah, it's worth it.
