Solid job by the Jets yesterday as they annihilate a pretty decent Seattle team. Eric Barton played as good a game as a defensive player can probably play. He had an interception, sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery and a team-high 11 tackles. Erik Coleman had a nice QB sack and how good does this guy look? Chad Pennington looked very good. 3 touchdowns, no interceptions. Jerald Sowell turned some short 5 yard passes into 20-yard gains. Toby Gowin never even had to punt. They did a direct snap to Lamont Jordan which turned not into an HB option pass, but into a 33-yard gain. They passed the ball on first down a few times. All in all a very good day.
That said, this was a very injured and ineffective Seattle defense. It's going to be quite a feat to repeat this against the Patriots. But it looks like this offense really seemed to click in a way they hadn't since Chad got hurt against Buffalo. And as I recall, it was Week 16 against New England 2 years ago when the offense got rolling and that propelled the Jets into the playoffs. Well that's all the time we have today. Good news east coast. I'm coming....
